The orange one? I thought it was a Mk1 Golf or early Fiesta?

Pretty sure your Fiesta guess is correct.

My dad had a Fiesta just like that when I was a kid. Euro spec, bright red. He bought it in Germany when he lived there and imported it to the US (before the 25 year law).

After he'd had the car for 8 or 9 years, the shifter came off in his hand one day as he went to shift into 2nd gear. He traded it for a Corolla. Then later he traded that for another Corolla. Now he's got a base model Forester, gray on gray.

I love my dad dearly and while he's interested in how cars work, he's no Jalop.

I wish he'd hung onto that Fiesta a little longer. It was a cool car, and it still looked immaculate when he got rid of it.

In high school, my buddy had a Mk. 1 Fiesta. Weird car.

The horn button wasn't on the wheel, you pushed the turn signal lever into the steering column.

And the windshield washer spray was manual. Manual! There was a rubber "button" on the floor that you pumped with your foot, like a small engine's fuel primer.
